Through the Patch Blogtrain

I told you I had a surprise for you! ;o)
Sweet Digi Scraps (Liz) and Valarie Ostrom Designs have collabed again (remember the great Project 365 kit - Life is Good or Growing Up Boy or Growing Up Girl) and they have come up with this cute Kit "Through the Patch".
The Sweeties (also known by our "boss lady" as Mushy Taters, but that's a LONG story that Danyale can tell better than me!) got to play with the kit and make some presents for our blog readers!!

here is what I am giving away - one multi-photo Quickpage.

I hope you like it, I also used one of Liz's awesome templates for it. It's from this pack (image linked to store).

Hybrid Quickproject Freebie!!!

let me start off by saying - Danyale you are going to be so proud of me!!
I got the glue out today! I was surfing the digiworld (as usual) today, and found a link on Ikeagoddess' site to a GREAT hybrid mini bag project.

It was on Michelle Filo's site and it looked so great, that I couldn't wait for the boys to be having their "upstairs time" (they no longer nap, but have to give me a break) so I could try it out!
I was so happy with the result, that I went back to Michelle's site (bookmarked now by the way) and asked her if she would let me share the project with everyone - she found a great word for it a "Quickproject"! And she said YES! Isn't that kind!

So here it is!
I have uploaded it to both Mediafire and 4shared, so take your pick!

And if you do go and see Michelle, leave her a note of thanks there too! A little thanks can go a long way!

Lucky Day Free Quickpages

I had a great weekend if anyone is interested. Mum and Dad babysat the kids, whilst Florian and I had a GREAT time at my brothers concert. this time it was 80s music, it was like timetravelling. And seeing as we both turn 40 this year it was great to feel like a teenager again!

When we came back home we brought my Mum with us. So for the last couple of days I got a little bit of a lay in, as the boys went and got Nanna up rather than me! Thanks for that Mum, most appreciated! Mum was here as I had a doctors checkup at a silly time. 11.15am, now if doctors were any good at time management, I wouldn't have needed Mum to be here, but mine aren't!! I have to pick the boys up at the latest by 12.30pm and I couldn't be sure of that happening, so Mum came to help out. And a good thing to - I was home at about 1.15pm!! I got there at 11am and already they were running late and let me go shopping til 12!
But enough about that, some of you are here for a freebie! But let me show you my layouts first:
This is Richard at the weekend having some green juice - just perfect for my Lucky Day kit, don't you think! Then there is this one I made for the Font Challenge at DAC, the font is Kiralynn btw. And don't you just love the alpha - Dinphy has that as a freebie on her blog, so you might want to stop by there, after you have picked up your freebie here!
I decided to treat you all and turn these pages into Quickpages, there is plenty of room to add a title (possibly with Dinphy's alpha) and journalling on both of them.
You can download the Quickpages at the store (safer than 4shared, maybe, although I haven't had any problems!)

Thanks for stopping by and like Dinphy always says, if you leave a comment, you'll make me happy!

Some layouts and other things...

So I forgot to blog here again yesterday, I am getting bad, sorry about that, if you come by here looking for me, do check my Project 365 blog, I am managing to keep up with the daily photo so far.

So, my new CT have been really busy, let me show you some more layouts with my "Love is in the Air" kit - still on special til Sunday

so this first layout is by Vanessa, love all the layering of the papers and the photo is so cute! Thanks for your layout, Vanessa.
This next one is from Brianne, isn't the little darling just too cute in those glasses!

And this one is from Michelle, and you should pop by her blog if you like it, as she is offering it as a Quickpage!
And this one is from my good friend, fellow designer and CT member Dinphy. just look at the concentration on her son's face! So cute!Credits: Wordart by Elegant Wordart

And here is another one by my good friend Benita, and she made a template of this too, which you can get if you join us in the template challenge at DigitalArts Cafe
Extra credits: flower ribbon from Blossom by me
Blue flower from Special Delivery by me
Leaves by Kristin Aargard

So, it has been snowing, sleeting, raining and snowing again all day! Horrible weather, and tonight the weather has changed my TV viewing plan, as the snow is not letting me watch English TV, bother. So I have a video in "The Cutting Edge" with DB Sweeney, I used to watch this regularly, but haven't seen it for years now, but I still enjoy it!

A Freebie, a CT Call and an update

so first of all, I owe everyone an account of my first day back in the working world. It was OK I suppose, walking back into the offices was like stepping back in time, nothing had really changed in the 4.5 years that I was away. Living proof I was away was waiting for me when I got home though ;o)
I will be helping out there with translating German to English and vice versa. So far it looks as though I won't be too busy, there was no translating today anyway. I hope it picks up a little bit, but the woman I will be working with seems nice.

OK, now what else do I have for you today. Seeing as I started out with the update, I will continue with my CT call - I am linking the image to my store, so you can all see, what you would be letting yourselves in for!

Text, in case the picture doesn't show up:

New Kit in the Store

Yep, I finally finished, my new kit
LOVE IS IN THE AIR
is in the store.
I had fun with this one, nice and bright and for a change "pink", with an all boy household it makes a nice change!

And do you remember that Word album I showed you a week or so ago, I got that packaged up and in the store too.
Images are linked to the store, just in case you wanted to go shopping! I am now working on a couple of matching freebies for you, so keep checking back - you could follow me if you don't want to miss it!

And now for todays update on the washing machine. Well, Florian checked the hose properly taking it apart and everything, but it seems it is beyond repair. So, today was my first trip (at least as far as I can remember) to the laundrette, where we got 3 loads of washing done, so we are all set for the coming week, when I can hopefully find someone to replace this hose!!
Bye 4 now (bedtime here)

Thanks Leigh - Another Spooked Quickpage!

Update 21. October 2010 - Spooked has been rereleased check post 21.October 2010 for links!

Surprise!!
Leigh surprised me with this the other day, and I have been saving it, for when the kit Spooked is available at DigitalArts Cafe - so today is the day, that Leigh and I are giving this away

And I loved it so much, that I dug through the dress up photos of my boys and added my own photo to the Quickpage!

This is Robert at Carnival this year, seeing this though, I think he may well be an elephant again at Halloween - if - we go Trick or Treating!

Do you like this quickpage? Well, you'll love the kit! AND....
it's available for free at DigitalArts Cafe

And there are plenty more Quickpages to go with the one from Leigh above.

Benita created this one for you

Dinphy made this one for you on her blog

And I made these two

All images linked the the appropriate posts!

Come back later (when my boys are in bed) for my daily update!

Boys are in bed now! We cut Robert's hair this afternoon, he DID NOT want it done, I think it tickles him too much! It looks quite good, we need a bit more practise, as this time we did not just shave it all off, but tried to keep it long on top! mmh, the fringe is a bit wonky, but it looks OK, and he likes it!

this afternoon the cat brought home a trophy - a Jay!!! He put it down under the kitchen table, I got the cat out of the room, then got the dustpan! Well, you can imagine the scream I let out, when the "dead" bird I was putting on it, flipped over and flew off! It really made me jump! But I recovered to get some pictures, before it found its way out of the window! (watch for a layout!) And here it is!

Florian took the boys out for a bike ride and race, they love that. Mummy just watches and gives her orders, but Daddy gets on his bike and joins them! Unfortunately Florian had to leave today to go back to work, which was a shame as I had hoped to go out with my friends tonight, oh well, better luck next time! OK, not much more about today - oh the new dryer works great!
NCIS and Dirty Dancing for me tonight!

Dinphy's Spooked Quickpage and other things!

Thanks for the surprise this morning Dinphy!
Dinphy has made a Quickpage for you all, isn't it just great!

So if you want this just pop on over to see Dinphy and don't forget to leave her some love!

Also the vote is still open and the download links are still there if you now can't resist it, and want the full kit!
Here's how to get it!
First
- You have to register at DigitalArts cafe.
...That's free.
Second
- Make five posts in the forum section.
...Easy; introduce yourself, and say 'hi' to four others... Or play some games.
Third
- Go to the 'secret forum'.
...In the top section, you find two important threads; 'Downloads' and 'Poll'.

I'm close (well sort of) second at the moment, so any votes would be appreciated!

NOw that was the first bit of good news. The second bit is totally non-scrapbooking related. You might remember that my boys decided to paint the freshly painted back wall of the house with dirt! It DIDN'T brush off and it DIDN'T wash off either! GRRRR! BUT I phoned the firm that painted it today to find out just which white they used, as white isn't always white if you know what I mean. And at lunchtime they brought me a little bit of paint round to go over the area again! that was really nice of them, so I am going to give them a little plug here, not that many are from around here, but they deserve it. The firm is Colora (www.colora.net)

As to our Robert, he still has a temperature and what he calls a headache, not really sure whether that is really a headache or a sore throat. He got up this morning and was fine, playing jumping and all the usual, so he went to Kindergarden. Then at lunchtime he crashed again. Didn't eat a thing, and had a long nap afterwards. BUT once awake he wanted us to go out to the Mütze (mother toddler centre - haven't been in a long while). So as I had no idea what his temperature was (still hadn't found the thermometer) we went, and we all enjoyed it!
On the way home I stopped at the chemists and got a thermometer and his temperature is most certainly too high, but he is asleep without Calpol tonight, and if it is still up in the morning I suppose I really must take him to the doctors AGAIN!
Sometimes I think I should just copy and paste every two weeks! Poor little thing!

OK time for some scrapping I think, then tomorrow when the polls are closed, I'll show you some non-halloween themed pages I have been making!

OH and Dinphy, Benita, if I win (I can dream!), I'll need a CT, so if you want....you could make my day again!!!!
Bye 4 now

Spooked again! - Layouts and another Quickpage

"My girls" have been busy again! Dinphy and Benita have been turning out layouts with my entry again, and wow, I'm floating as my Mum put it! I just get such a kick from seeing my kits in action!

Here are two Dinphy made, this first one is from her trip to a fairy tale park at Christmas last year, where her daughter got to have her picture taken with a witch! and her son in a borrowed pram, as his tyre went flat, just as they were leaving! And guess what - I LOVE IT! I love all the felt pieces holding the pictures in place.

And this layout she did for the Font challenge at DigitalArts Cafe. Great Font choice, Rhonda! Perfect for my kit! I LOVE the pics of Tom, he's having such fun! And my kit goes great with the colours on the photo! Another great one!

And this one is from Benita, this was the first layout made with my kit, even I hadn't made any when I spotted this in the galleries at DAC and BTST. Actually Mum spotted it and called me in to see it! When I went back into the lounge, even Dad noticed the grin on my face! anyhow it's her son dressed as Harry Potter. I LOVE IT (did you guess I was going to say that!)

And guess what, Benita has turned it into a Quickpage to share with you! Aren't you and I lucky!

Please leave Benita some love when you download, its her first time to share anything and that can be really daunting, so a bit of a Thank You will go a LONG way!

And if you like the Quickpage you'll love the kit, scroll down to find out just how to get the Kit Spooked for free!

Well, the boys are in bed, slightly earlier than usual, Robert crashed at lunchtime again! He was fine until he saw his dinner then it was downhill with him and up,up and away with his temperature! He's got me wondering now, if it has something to do with Daddy going away every week. - He crashed after being told that Daddy had to go back to work after lunch! MMh, I'll keep an eye on that.
Well, they BOTH had a nap after lunch and at 5.20pm Robert wanted to go to bed, so I put him to bed dosed up with Calpol. Magic stuff, at 5.45pm he was up again - I do want some tea Mummy!
We'll see how he is now in the morning!
Bye 4 now

Spooked!

I'm late, I have been at my parents all day, having a fun day! More about that at the bottom of this post, first I have to plug the FINAL entry to the Design It Contest at DigitalArts Cafe.

And even if I say it myself, its a good one! Friends of mine are BIG halloween fans, they even have their own Halloween site, with scary desktops, screensavers and wallpapers - you'll find a link to their page in my side bar - anyhow, when it was free choice for the last entry, I decided to go with Halloween. But cute not scary halloween, and this is it! Cute, don't you think!

So if you want this kit, it's free, pop on over to DigitalArts Cafe - here's how it works:

First
- You have to register at DigitalArts cafe.
...That's free.
Second
- Make five posts in the forum section.
...Easy; introduce yourself, and say 'hi' to four others... Or play some games.
Third
- Go to the 'secret forum'.
...In the top section, you find two important threads; 'Downloads' and 'Poll'.

If you are already registered, you only need to do the Third point!

I also have two quickpages for you! i thought some of you might be able to use a halloween party invitation!

And here is one for your Halloween Trick or Treaters!

Download Quickpages here

Enjoy them, and if you do get the kit, how about a vote for me! ;o)
And don't forget to check my friends Halloween site, although just a warning, they are not cute spooks there! :)

Too tired now for today's update, I'll be back tomorrow!

Special Delivery - A new Kit and Add-on!

Before I get to my daily update, let me plug away - again!
It's week 3 at DigitalArts Cafe and my entry is up for grabs again over there. This week we had a specific theme "babies" but no colour swatch.
I wanted something pretty neutral, that people could use for cards or such, if they weren't sure, what the baby was going to be, and wanted to get the card ready!
Anyhow, this is what it looks like!

that is it all together, but I have a preview of the papers and quickpage separately here

I'm pleased with the finished results, it could be a bit adventurous with the colours, not the traditional white, pink or blue, but guess what, of the 6 remaining contestants, I am not the only one with this colour swatch! So funny.

Anyways, how do you get my kit and the other 5 entries, Dinphy wrote it really well on her blog this week, so I am going to try copying and pasting!

First
- You have to register at DigitalArts cafe.
...That's free.
Second
- Make five posts in the forum section.
...Easy; introduce yourself, and say 'hi' to four others... Or play some games.
Third
- Go to the 'secret forum'.
...In the top section, you find two important threads; 'Downloads' and 'Poll'.

I am sure you will enjoy it over there, it is a great community!

I also have a little add on for you. It has 3 patterned and 3 solid papers, two ribbon flowers, two safety pins, and a complete tiny bead alpha, possible for on the safety pins!
I hope you like it!

D
OK, I can hear the kids playing up in the kitchen, I will go and help Florian supervise them, and I'll be back once they are in bed, to do my daily update!

Well, I am back, bit later than planned, but I was sort of hoping something exciting would happen, cause today was very uneventful really. I have done all of next weeks washing already and ironed it! Just got to put it away now! Florian went out in the garden with the boys, whilst I went and got some shopping. They "moved" Treacle (our other rabbit) into Miffy's old hutch (he has definitely gone for good, we have decided!). I think Treacle likes his new hutch, he was in it straight away and he looked so cosy. We have moved it closer to the house, so it might even be slightly less chilly there too.
Oh, remember the chicken who finally had eggs that were going to hatch, well not anymore they aren't she decided to give up!! Bother! I was quite looking forward to seeing some baby chicks. But she just isn't sitting on them anymore! So I have removed them from the nest completely! Maybe in the spring!
and that was our day in a nutshell!
Bye 4 now

Layouts and a Quickpage (and my usual update)

I'm going to start this post with a shameless plug for my entry to the Digital Arts Cafe Design It contest. I have been in the lead, but the other contestants are slowly creeping up on me! So I could do with a couple more votes, if you have the time.
You just have to go to www.digitalarts-cafe.com/forum, then click "register" to the right of the page underneath the birthday party ad, then once you have registered, you will still not be able to see the kits or the voting poll, for that you have to "unlock" the "secret forum" by posting in the forum you can see, 5 times. (just introduce yourself, and welcome 4 more people, or find the games section and join in) The Secret Forum is then automatically unlocked and you can see all entries in one thread, and there is a special thread for voting! OK, let me show you what you would be getting and how you can use it!

here a couple of layouts I made using my entry
This one is my Mum, when she was just a little girl, isn't she cute!

and this one is one of our wedding photos.

And then using the bits that - cause of numbers - didn't make it into the kit, I have this layout of my Dad as a little boy, isn't he cute too! Love those curls! This is the actual picture that my Nanna sent Pop during the war. A well travelled picture!

I have made this layout into a Quickpage to share with you. I hope you enjoy it.

And now to today's events. The boys were not much better than yesterday, but I won't bore you with all the details today, i did get rather loud, when Robert started hitting Richard, I'm not even sure, why he did it, but it was NOT good.
On a brighter note, our chicken that is trying to hatch a stone egg, now has two real eggs to hatch, I asked our neighbour with the cockerel and hens, if he would let me have a couple of eggs for her, I felt so sorry for her on the nest all day every day, and nothing to show for it, so now with a bit of luck, we'll have baby chicks around soon! That will make some cute layouts!

Bye 4 now

ByGone Days Quickpage

Please take a moment to read this. I have decided to enter the Design It Contest at DigitalArts Cafe and as of today the contestants kits are in the forum waiting for votes and downloads!
The quickpage today coordinates with the kit, however it is made with bits and pieces that didn't make it to the final kit, not because they weren't good enough, but because, papers and elements were limited! Anyhow if you like the quickpage i am SURE you will like the kit. So why not pop on over to DigitalArts Cafe and get it. Once there you will have to register at the forum (free of course) and to reach the "Secret Forum" with the downloads, you do have to have posted 5 times in the forum, not too difficult, introduce yourselves in the welcome area, maybe say hi to four other members or go and have look around, always somewhere to comment. Easiest in the Games section. It really is a fun and friendly place, who knows you may even find a new home!
There is a lot more going on at the Cafe at the moment, as we are celebrating its First Birthday, so you should easily reach 5 posts, and then you can get not only this

but also 14 other kits, with a heritage theme. (As far as I know there are 15 contestants)
I would truly appreciate you votes, if you like this! Thanks!
Links have expired, BUT the kit is now bigger and better and in my store

And here is the promised Quickpage for you. If you leave a comment on my blog, I will definitely pop over and visit you and leave you some love too, but I do find it a compliment to watch the numbers go up as you download. But Thank you really does go a long way!

Download link

I hope you enjoy this, and I will be back this evening to update all my friends and family with today's exciting stories (probably cycling related, if I know my boys!)

Well, here I am back for my daily update! And although there was plenty of cycling today, the best story is a mouse story. I have known now for a while that there is a mouse in our utility room (messed on my iron), we have a cat, and Sunny ignores it. Well, after lunch Florian was throwing something in the rubbish in the kitchen, and it seems this time Sunny has lost his catch in the kitchen! A mouse jumped out of the rubbish bin as Florian opened the door! And he didn't scream! I don't mind mice, but that would have made me jump, not Florian, he just calmly turned to me in the lounge and said "we have a mouse in the kitchen". We (Florian, Robert and I) then tried to find the little monster. No luck! So we now have a mousetrap set, the little mouse is going to dine on Nutella (chocolate spread) on toast today, hopefully. As he had tried to get into my loaf of bread earlier!
Other than the mouse chase, the boys have been out cycling twice, once with Florian and once with me, Florian was on his way to join us, but it started raining so we came in again!
And of course I have been stalking DigitalArts Cafe! To see how my kit is being recieved. Well, I have the most comments on the preview, but unfortunately it is not on comments that we are being judged but on the votes that a posted in the Secret Forum, so far I am leading, but only by 2 votes, so if you have the time, do post 5 times in the forum (gallery posts don't count) and open the Secret forum. where you'll find the download links and the voting thread!
Bye 4 now
