Happy Birthday Florian!

So for the next 5 days, I can tease Florian about how old he is, unfortunately then I catch him up! We are only 5 days apart. But it is normally fun teasing him! He's OK with it, tells me, what a young catch he's got!

the boys and I managed to surprise him with his presents. You see, we got him things off of his Xmas 2007 list! Which he forgot to add to his birthday list, so he wasn't expecting them. He got a new wallet and some eau de toilette. And we had already been shopping with his birthday money from Mum and Dad, so he did really well. We didn't do anything special today though. Probably cause we were all so tired!
The boys were up between midnight and 2 am, most of the time screaming. And both for no apparent reason. When I expected them to be up and screaming - during a terrific storm we had last night - they were sound asleep. When we wanted to sleep they were wide awake! Didn't make any difference in the time they woke up though! 7.30am nice and bright and early!

The storm last night, was unbelievable, I don't think I have seen anything like it before. The rain was coming down the road like someone was cleaning it with a giant Kärcher (hose with strong water coming from it!) Incredible. The thunder didn't stop rolling and rumbling, and it was lightening all over the place. Then it hailed, about the size of large marbles! I thought the roof was coming off. In fact, once it had eased off, and was "only" raining, I did go and check if all the roof tiles were still there! I am really glad the boys slept through it, cause it wasn't a storm I would have wanted them to watch, it was really scary (but exciting) to watch, for the boys it would only have been scary!

Did I ever mention that our cat Ticki had been missing these past weeks. Well he came back on Robert's birthday, I cried when I saw him, cause I really thought we had lost him! Anyway he is back home now and a lot lot skinnier. I assume he was shut in a garage or such whilst someone was away on holiday, cause he was gone for exactly two weeks! Poor thing, I am sure he will soon put all his extra weight back on again, now he is home. And maybe he won't go nosying in other peoples garages now!

Did you miss me?

I missed you! The German Telekom decided not to let me have internet all last night. It felt like someone had cut me off from the world! And that on Robert's Birthday, where I wanted to post his B-day Card on the right day. Oh well, I'll post it now instead.

Robert loved his card. So I was quite chuffed, and it did look good printed out and cut to size (only small, probably about 4x4).
Anyways about the birthday. He remembered the moment he got up that it was his birthday. So cute, and when asked if he'd like a present, the answer was a definite "YES". Good job I was for once organised. I had hidden his present in his favourite hiding place. So he found it quite quickly. He opened the small one from Richard first. The game with the chickens And we had to play it then and there. (I chose a good one, it was fun AND they both got the right idea!) After that, he went back to the BIG present, commenting on its size! He was so excited about it, we had to get that out right away too. And for once, this wasn't packaged like Fort Knox. I didn't need scissors or wire cutters to get this out! It was great, some of the other toy firms need to take a look at this packaging, it would save us Mum's a LOT of hassle!
They both played very nicely then with the new toys whilst I had a shower (in peace!).

At Kindergarden it was soooo cute! All the girls were lined up to give Robert a great big birthday cuddle! I wonder if they will still do that, when he's older! ;o)
He even came home with a present from Kindergarden, an egg timer for cleaning his teeth, its in the shape of a little mouse. He has been on about a mouse and a toothbrush all week, and I hadn't got a clue what he was on about, but now I know!

In the afternoon a car full of visitors arrived for him. Nanna and Pop, also known as Mum and Dad, although Robert could NOT understand that. He told Pop "You're not Daddy, your name is POP!" He could not get that Pop was also my Daddy! So cute.
Anyhow back to Robert's guests. Zoe and Mia and their other Nanna, Ulla, came too. It was all very exciting. Robert got some lovely presents, a game with monkeys, some books and some T-shirts and not to forget some lollipops! After unwrapping all them, it was out into the garden and to the paddling pool. It was sooooo hot here yesterday, that they needed the paddling pool.
They all had great fun, and Dad took some great photos. As usual on the important days, I hardly get any photos, typical!
so that was yesterday, I would have told everyone about it last night, but as I said, Telekom cut me off from the world!

Today in comparison, was not at all exciting, housework in the morning and more paddling pool in the afternoon. Robert came in for the watering cans from the bathroom at one point and came back out with 5 little water pistols he found in the cupboard. So we had great fun chasing one another with them. It was great when they actually hit me, very refreshing.
come tea time though Robert was in "paddy" mode, so that was fun. Because of it, he missed out on a bath, and they both only had a shower, and they wouldn't have had that, had they not been so dirty. The paddling pool can be a really dirty thing in our house. They will insist on swamping the lawn and then splashing in the mud!

Florian is not due home til late tonight, so that gives me time to get his birthday card made. It's Florian's turn tomorrow!

HOT, HOT, HOT

So I bought a new paddling pool this morning! One that you blow up, the old one we had you didn't have to blow up, the water in it held the sides up, but that also meant you had to put a LOT of water in it, and also the boys soon found out, that you could easily let the water out again! With the new one, it took them at least two hours to figure out how to get the water out of it, to create a muddy puddle! And then they did it by getting all of the buckets from the sandpit!

I actually spent more money on things non-grocery related in the grocery store than groceries! I got Florian a new pair of shoes, and a new pair of jeans and a bra for me, and the paddling pool! Not bad, when I only went in for some sausages for Robert to take to Kindergarden for his Birthday party there tomorrow!

This afternoon my friend Silvia came round with her kids Lucas and Lisa. We sat in the garden and watched the boys in the paddling pool, oh and digging in the greenhouse, which reminds me, I never checked to see what chaos they had created there, oops!
Because of the "muddy puddle" they made, when Silvia left, I marched the boys straight into the bath! They looked like they had muddy chicken pox! Covered in spots they were! All washed off in the bath though!

I did a layout again at lunchtime, so there will be one here later on.

And here it is! This is for the lyrics challenge at DSO, the lyrics are from a U2 song, and were perfect for the pictures Mum and Dad brought back from holiday!
They were away for a break in the "sun", in their two week holiday, they saw the sun maybe three times! It was not good!

Birthday presents and other things...

Well, Robert's birthday is right around the corner (Thursday) so it was about time, that we got him a present! I went to his favourite toyshop and had a look around. In the end - with the help of a friend that I bumped into in the shop - I chose a BIG lorry that tows cars away that are wrongly parked, it has another car on its back and a crane thing. Plus it flashes and makes noise (didn't notice that bit, til I got it home! oops!), I think he will love it.
Unbeknown to Richard he also has a present for Robert. He has got him a game, it has chickens in it (fitting with us having 7!) and you play it with a dice. It looks like fun, and something I will enjoy playing too, seeing as I will be the one playing with him!

Mum made lunch for us!! No she's not here, but she packed me up a goodie bag yesterday. So the boys had "Nanna's spaghetti" again, and I had Mum and Dad's Sunday Roast left overs. Delicious!

We spent the afternoon in the garden again. And what did the boys want to play with most - my clean washing! I convinced them that they weren't going to hang it out for me, but they then after putting ALL of the leftover pegs on the string hanging down from the line, ran around and around in the washing. Grrrr. (Although if I am honest, I seem to recall doing that myself and having a great time. My poor Mum, here's a very belated, but heartfelt "sorry")

Bathtime after tea, and now they are in bed sound asleep - I think!
And I have to remember when I go downstairs to get the washing off the line, otherwise I might have to start again in the morning!

And this one, was difficult! It was for the Snap It Challenge at Been There Scrapped That, we had to take a picture of ourselves. It has taken me until now, to do this one and the month is nearly up! But I really like the picture I got of me (I did take my glasses off to get it, so I couldn't really see, what I was smiling at!). Scrapping it I found a bit difficult, much easier to scrap the kids!

Good and Bad News

from the eye doctor today! I was there for my yearly check up, where they enlarge your pupils and look at your retina. I have a mole on mine, which has to be checked regularly, that is all OK. So whilst not wearing contact lenses I also had my glasses checked, and here comes the good news. I need new glasses but not because my eyes have got worse, NO THEY HAVE GOT BETTER! (I am extremely short-sighted and NEVER thought I would be told they had got better!) They haven't got that much better, but they are better.
The bad news, isn't that bad, but the reason I have been having problems with my lenses lately and not been seeing well, is I have a scratch on my cornea, which needs treating. I have to go back next Monday and see if the drops have cleared it all up! Until then, no contact lenses. And glasses that are too strong for me, as new ones won't be ready that quickly! Oh well, never mind!

Whilst I was at the doctors the boys were with Mum and Dad, and were behaving nicely until I walked through the door, and then they started arguing again! Typical!
In the afternoon Dad took the boys to watch the airplanes at the airport and then to the playground! They had a great time. So did Mum and I, we walked into town and had an ice cream (another Spaghetti Ice Cream), and did some window shopping!

We are back home now, quite an uneventful trip the boys fell asleep quite early on, so it was nice and peaceful.

busy, busy, busy

but all fun! Up nice and bright and early - as usual!
We went round to friends for breakfast - we took the eggs (fresh from the chickens!) and rolls. It was delicious and fun. The boys love going to see them. they too live in a toy shop!
The boys however were the most excited about coming to see Nanna and Pop. And when we didn't drive from our breakfast date straight here to Nanna's Richard was most upset! But I wanted to give them dinner first!
It seemed to take me forever to get down here though, first Richard complained about his willy hurting and needing it checked right away! That was stop number 2 the first being "my lost my dummy!" then of course robert needed a "wee-wee" 20 minutes later!
Once her though we all relaxed. My brother and family were here too, and the kids all played in the garden splashing in the water and having a ball. And then they all got to have a shower together, all four of them! It was so cute to watch, Zoe showed Richard how to wash his hair, and Robert tried to do it for him! So cute!

now the boys are finally tucked up in bed, it takes them a while to go off, when we are not at home. And I am watching TV with Mum and Dad.

One VERY happy boy!

Well, it's Robert's 4th birthday on Thursday and we had decided that he wants a bicycle for it! So today was the big day for shopping for it! we didn't tell the boys where we were going just that we were going shopping! They got huge eyes when we got out of the car at a shop with JUST bicycles! Robert fell in love with the one right by the door, got it out and rode off. (it had stabilisers on it!)
It was however a fraction too big, so we had to convince him to try a different one with a bit smaller wheels on it! Luckily they brought out a yellow one (Robert's favourite colour) and it was a bit easier to get him off of the first bike.
We bought the yellow one, and a Bob The Builder flag to go on the back. Then we went and did the real shopping! Well, I did the shopping, Robert rode around and around the car park, and Richard chased him, whilst Florian watched out for cars for them!

Once home Robert phoned Nanna and Pop (who are now back from their wet holiday) and said thank you for his Birthday present (its from them - thanks again!), and "can I ride it now, Nanna?" Pop said he could, so he has been on it a LOT this afternoon.
As well as helping with more lawnmowing and weeding and playing football!

This evening we joined friends at the Chinese restaurant for a buffet meal! It was delicous. Robert and Richard love those prawn cracker things they have. And Robert loved the deep fried fish. Richard ate some of his and a lot of corn! And I had some of everything! this time I left room for the dessert (deep fried banana with honey), yummy!

A GREAT day!

Well, I (no that should be "we") finished the translation about 11pm last night. So between us that was 6 hours last night alone. So you can probably imagine just how big a translation that was. But it doesn't matter who wants me to do one they all say the same "it's not much really, there are a lot of pictures in the document" - and it is always more than they are expecting me to have to do, this time it was 9 hours work!! Never mind. The pocket money will come in very handy!

Florian had today off , but the kids had Kindergarden, so we made the most of it, and went into town without the kids and did some clothes shopping for both of us. Florian got a new pair of shoes (the first in a long time that he won't be wearing for work!), 3 T-shirts and a pair of shorts. And as we were on our way out of the shop, I stopped at one of the mannequins there, and thought that looks nice. Found it, tried it on and bought it. A skirt and blouse. Somehow much more practical for the wedding, especially as I will be the photographer. Florian really liked it too.

Having done the clothes shopping, Florian treated us to an ice-cream. We both had "spaghetti ice cream" (thats vanilla icecream pushed through something to make it look like spaghetti on top of cream, with strawberry sauce and sprinkled with white chocolate. Have I made your mouth water yet? Mine is! I could eat another one right now!)
Then it was time to pick the kids up. Florian picked them up today actually, and he had a chance to chat to the kindergarden teachers about Robert and Richard and speaking German. I never ask, cause they normally tell me off about it. I wasn't there.
Apparently, when asked to both Robert and Richard do repeat what they have just said in English in German! wow, I am impressed! but even more surprising was that the Kindergarden teacher has finally realised that what we are doing for the kids is a GREAT present and said so to Florian. Finally they realise! At first they were so against it, probably makes life easier for Robert and Richard now they are not against them being bilingual.

This afternoon we all went in the garden. After another ice-cream (just a cone), the boys and Florian mowed the lawn. And I did my ironing out there! Made a change! We all finished at the same time. Although I am sure Florian would have been finished a lot faster without his little helpers! I wouldn't have though 12 shirts and blouses, plus other odds and ends take their time!

No translation tonight, so I hope to get some scrapping done. BTST's gallery is up and running again, with a new improved version. So I want to get all my layouts I did whilst it was down up, and perhaps finish off the challenges there. Still have to take pics of me and scrap them.... And make a Quickpage!

And now about our day, well, Florian who was supposed to come home last night, finally got here at lunchtime today. Last night he worked to late and missed the last train home, so he was going to get one of the first trains this morning. When he got to the station, he found that he had left his ticket in the office, so had to go there first to get that, by which time his train was LONG gone! Oh dear!
We finally met him at the beer garden, where we had arranged to meet friends. When I left home with the boys, I was sure we were going to get very wet, there were some very black clouds around. But they chose to carry on their journey, and we had a beautiful afternoon at the beer garden. The boys loved it there. There is a great big sandpit, and all the toys that go with that are there too. Plus a little wooden climbing frame castle thing, with a slide. And for all the little boys there, this time there were a lot of pieces of wood around, so Robert and Richard spent a lot of time, carrying that up into their castle. So cute!
We had dinner there (the boys had sausage, I had steak and Florian had "Flammkuchen" I have no idea what that is in English, delicious though!). And we stayed all afternoon, we got back in time for tea and a bath. A lovely day.

There won't be any layouts from me tonight, I have a 26 page translation to tackle, I worked on it all last night, and got 6 pages done. I think my brain has gone a bit rusty, I haven't done any translating lately, so it wasn't going well. And I am not looking forward to tonights lot. But my clients want it by tomorrow, so I have no choice. But I would rather be scrapping than translating!

And I got to play with it! It was especially fun, as my boys had quite a bit to do with the creation, giving Silvia some inspiration to go with it! I have so far done 3 layouts with it.
This first one was also for a challenge, the sketch challenge at ScrappinFreeStyle. It's Robert trying his hand at a bit of DIY, again I hid behind the camera and did my worrying there!

So that was what I was up to last night, and the reason I didn't post them then, was that I wanted to be sure the kit was in the shop first. It is now, and it is on sale!

Now about my day! I had to go shopping this morning, and I had to buy some petrol, nearly broke my heart, let alone the bank! It seems every day the price goes up and up and up! Couldn't bring myself to fill it up, hoping that the price will come down after tomorrows bank holiday! (who am I kidding!?!) I did get everything done though and I convinced them at the chemists, that no, I wouldn't be back to pick the stuff up this afternoon and they then said, Oh we can bring it to you! That's more like it! richard has a few warts on the back of his knee and we need something to get rid of them, before they spread.
I also went to the post office, where the girl there asked about my bridal headdress, and whether it had arrived safely the second time! Bless her. and if anyone else was wondering - yes it did! Haven't heard yet, whether my cousin will be wearing it, but I think she probably will, after all what the headdress went through to get to her!

This afternoon I let Richard choose what we did, and he DID NOT want to go in the garden, so we played indoors all afternoon, not so good for the "tidiness" of the lounge, but it did Richard good. Robert could have done with running around outside, but Richard really just wanted to play with his toys today. so we did!

This is turning out to be a long post tonight, but I wanted to show you all Dinphy's Kit that she made for the DSO Colour Challenge, ever since I found DSO I have waited for Dinphy's kit to come so that I could participate in the challenge. I just love her stuff. This month I entered my own kit, BUT that didn' t mean to say I wasn't waiting for her. And I was right to wait, look:

And this is what I did with it. I am entering it in the Font Challenge at DSO, it is of my Mother's Day presents. If you look closely, you can see Florian's very first scrapbooking layout, that he made me for Mother's Day. The boys made the butterflies at Kindergarden for me!

Where did today go?

Up the usual bright and early, but that was OK today as I had an appointment at the bank pretty early.
But first things first, we phoned my Dad and the boys gave him their own special (but actually very tuneful) version of "Happy Birthday" - so cute.
And yes Dinphy, May is a VERY busy month with birthdays. My Mum is 1 day older than my Dad, Florian is 5 days older than me (although mine falls in June) and then there is Robert in the same week as Florian and I. Plus all the other birthdays such as five cousins, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law, an aunt and one nephew. Quite an expensive month! My Grandad used to be between me and Florian so that was another one! Keeps me busy making everyone cards, although those that don't live close to oneanother will get the same ones! I made Dad's especially for him, but I think I will use it again for our nephew tomorrow!

whilst in town at the bank, I did go for a quick peek at the shops, and I bought myself a dress and a pair of shoes (still with my Xmas present from Mum and Dad, I love my voucher card, it means I can go and look and treat myself if I want to! It's getting low now, so I will have to look for bargains now!) I have to run the dress by Florian first as it is a VERY "Kerri Colour" as my friends call them. Meaning very bright and cheerful! This dress is bright orange with a full skirt and a halter neck. I thought it would be good for the wedding we are going to in June, but we'll see what Florian thinks first.

I spent lunchtime downloading Silvia's new kit, and scrapping with it. So watch this space for the layouts and preview when it hits the store! (shh...don't tell anyone you heard it from me... but some of it was inspired by my boys!)

And the afternoon as most of our afternoons now, was spent in the garden. I had a little lay down on the bench, and the boys made a mudpie (minus the water) on the bottom of the slide! The ideas they have!
They are now all clean again (after a bath) and tucked up in bed. Robert was absolutely fine all day, so goodness only knows what that high temperature was all about on Sunday night! Never mind, as long as he is alright again now, I don't really need to know.

OK, I'm off to play some more with Silvia's new kit.

Happy Birthday Dad

What a night!!! And Leigh has a surprise!

Everything was fine when the kids went to bed, and then about 10.30pm Robert needed the potty - nothing new there - except he felt like he was burning up. So I took his temperature, it was up to 39.7°C (102.74°F). What a shock!
Florian and I both carried on watching the TV, both of us worrying silently, then when we went to bed we both couldn't sleep. The only thing the doctor said to watch for, when we left the hospital with him, was for a fever. Bother! In the end (about 0.30am) we got up and called the hospital, the ward he was on, when he was in, and asked, if we should be bringing him in right away. She said to just give him something to bring the fever down and to go straight to the doctor in the morning. Which needless to say we did!
She could find nothing obviously wrong with him, his temperature had dropped now to 38°C(100°F) and he was acting totally normal (I wouldn't even had taken his temperature, if it hadn't been for the night). We now have to watch him closely and if the fever is still around in 3 days time, straight into hospital! Thankfully though it seems to have subsided, tonight it is normal. We also have to watch for nose bleeds, gums bleeding and excessive bruising (that one is a difficult one, as he is always getting himself bruised somehow or another!), and if that increases or occurs straight back to her.
It certainly made for one sleepless night for me! And I don't think Florian did much better either!
Florian by the way stayed an extra day, just incase Robert and I had been sent straight to hospital, which luckily we weren't. He left about 5.30pm to catch the train. It was good to have him here longer. Certainly helped my frayed nerves.

But on to brighter things.
This afternoon we went in the garden (again!) and Richard got on Roberts bike without pedals (skooting bike??) And off he went. He looked so proud of himself! He loved it! Robert is getting a bike for his birthday, so Richard will inherit that one it a weeks time anyway.
Our neighbours have a new Rabbit (Winnie) she kept getting out today and visiting one of our rabbits, it looked like they were kissing at one point. Luckily SHE couldn't get into our rabbit, as it is a HE!! That could have been interesting in a few weeks time! We put the rabbit back 3 times today, not sure how they are going to solve the escaping problems! So I may be catching it some more times this week!

Where did the sunshine go?

It wasn't here all morning, then it came out for a bit, but as soon as we got in the garden it went and hid again behind big black clouds! It was actually quite chilly, but it could have had something to do with the fact that instead of running around after the kids, I was sat at the computer chatting to Leigh and doing a layout. Another one for Mum!

Mum sent me these pics of her as a little girl some time ago, so cute! And the one of Mum with the boys was taken on 1st May. I was going to embellish it some more, but it just seemed right as it is! I hope you like it Mum.

So that was what I made this afternoon, whilst Florian and the boys were playing in the garden.
Quite an uneventful day, but a nice one. The boys certainly enjoyed themselves and wore themselves out. So much so, that at 6pm Robert was complaining he was tired. But then again he had been up since 6am! And on the go since then too!

And here is my layout for Digital Arts Cafe (btw you should visit the forum and see what is going on there!) and also for Phillsboo and I managed to combine it with a challenge to get the most views on it. It is for the lyrics challenge at Been there scrapped That (another place you should visit!) Weekend at last!

And Florian is home. We let him have a lay in this morning, not that the boys thought it a good idea. They wanted to play with Daddy! I let them get him up at 10.30am
Then they went out in the garden and finally the lawn got mowed!!! Florian has shown me a little trick on how to fill the lawn mower, so hopefully next time I have to fill it, I won't get in such a mess!
In the afternoon it was back out in the garden for the boys and Daddy, whilst I went shopping in peace! After seeing the price of petrol, I did or tried to do the whole week's shopping (€1.50 for a Litre of Diesel). When I got back the boys were on top of me instantly. And Richard's first words were "Did you buy some ice-cream?" I had been promising them that I would the next time I went shopping. He had obviously been waiting for it! THey had it there and then, before I could even unpack the car! So cute.
I then unpacked the car and it was time for ANOTHER ice-cream (after I had a little chat with Leigh!)
Aldi had lettuce on offer when I went, so we had a delicious salad for tea, with croutons and fried egg (left out the bacon that normally goes with it too, as Florian is vegetarian!)

And again!

I love the "Happy Place" at DigiShopTalk.com. A) I get to see what great kits are out there, B) you can usually enter a random draw to win one of them, and today I was lucky AGAIN.

Today was another early start. I love the birds singing when they wake up, I just wish they wouldn't sing in front of Robert's window, cause he has started getting up with them! And then as he doesn't have a nap anymore, he gets grumpy and worse whiny towards the end of the day.

The morning was OK, I got quite some tidying up and cleaning done. Lunchtime was no fun. Robert decided that he didn't want to eat, and sat there growling at me all lunchtime. He only started to eat when I threatened him with no TV after Richard's nap! that worked! Once he started he actually enjoyed it!

After Richard's nap, it was the boys turn to tidy up! Well, that was my idea, they unfortunately only agreed for about 10 minutes then they got bored with the game. Until it was time to take down the tents, then they were all for helping me, which I could have done without. Now we have one completely broken pole, where the elastic has come right out! Oh well, they were a bit broken before taking them down, now the igloo one is finished!
We finished the tidying about 15 minutes before Florian came home, so that was OK (oh, nearly forgot the boys did do all the hoovering for me!)

I got a layout done, whilst Richard was having his snooze. I'll post it later on. It's my new improved version of a card I always send when someone has a baby. Only now I have discovered Digiscrapping, so it has undergone major changes! Before it was just the b/w picture of Richard's feet on the outside of the card, and the story on the inside. Now it is all pretty too. It makes all new Mum's cry, and me too sometimes! You were warned!

RAKed again!

Wow, just opened my emails up here, and I have been RAKed at DST again! Look at what I have won (click on the image to go to Lliella's Shop)


That will be great for layouts with the boys! Can't wait to use it, its still downloading as I write.

The day started off OK, I got quite a bit accomplished around the house (washing, floors, chickens, etc.) then I picked the boys up, who spent most of the afternoon arguing over something or the other. They were so whiny! Could have had something to do with the fact, that they were up at the crack of dawn today (6.15am!).
Well after Richard's nap, we went in the garden, where I intended to mow the lawn, before the rain that was forecast. Well, although we now have the petrol for it, it is in a 10l canister, which I can barely lift, let alone tip controlled. But I tried, but all I succeeded in doing was getting it over me, the lawnmower and the floor, not hardly a drop in the lawnmower! Those are the moments, when you realise that you wish even more that your husband didn't work away from home, and you weren't a single Mum during the week. Cause, when I told the boys, that Mummy wasn'tdoing the mowing, cause she couldn't get the mower filled, they both started some more of their screaming! I felt like joining them then. I didn't instead, I fled to the kitchen and secretly had some chocolate - that helped a bit!
I did give the boys some too, after they found me there!
Anyhow the mowing didn't get done, and after being out in the garden about an hour, we started to hear the thunder, the boys are frightened of that, so they fled to the barn, leaving me to clear up all the toys they had got out. But it was cute, they were stood at the barn door singing
"I hear thunder, I hear thunder, hark don't you, hark don't you, pitter patter raindrops, pitter patter raindrops, I'm wet through, so are you !" (if you don't know it, it is to the tune of Frere Jacques).
We went indoors then, did some jigsaws, chatted on Skype to my uncle in England, then I phoned Mum in Spain. then it was tea time - and now they are in bed. Luckily the thunder passed without them being too frightened, and it doesn't look like we are in for anymore. I don't need both of them in bed with me!

Right I am off now, to unpack my unexpected present from Lliella.

An ordinary Day

Nothing exciting here today, the car was still running, although I did have my neighbour a bit worried, when I walked to pick the kids up from Kindergarden. He thought it wasn't working again, but it was just me making the most of the sunshine!

I got all my shopping done before 10am, I picked Florian's shoes and suit up all clean and/or mended! And then I went shopping for a present for a new born baby. I love to do that, even more so, when it is a baby girl! I got a really cute T-shirt and matching trousers for her, in a lovely shade of green with pinks! I think I will have to take a picture and maybe if I fancy some more designing use it as the colour swatch! (Makes sense, having two boys and considering a pink and green colour swatch!?!!)

Spent the afternoon in the garden again. Robert was being a bit funny today, the neighbour's son and a friend came over to play, and Robert spent all of his time, trying to stop them, saying "it's my garden, I don't want them to come here! I want to play on my own, it's MY garden!" - oh dear. He was quite happy though when they went to follow them back into the neighbours garden and play on their swing! Kids!!!

Well, Been There Scrapped That is having a bit of a facelift today, but it should be up and running again (well it is now, but not at full speed) really soon. Gives me a bit of time to work on my challenge layouts! Just need inspiration, I am really stuck on the "D" word. I want it to be of my boys, so that it turns into a book about them, but "Dance" doesn't really do it. They are not acting like "Darlings" today. Oh, I've just that second had an idea. I got some great pics of them on their climbing frame today, so how about "Daring" that sounds about right....
Now to pick the perfect kit! We'll see!

Battery flat AGAIN!

All plans for today went right out the window this morning, when Florian came back in (having said good bye a couple of minutes earlier), and said "the car won't start, I'm taking yours!" And he was gone! In a very BIG hurry as he had a train to catch!
Well I had planned on another trip to Opel's to pick up the winter tyres, but that wasn't going to happen, cause there was no way I could get it all sorted in time. So I got the boys up as normal, we walked to Kindergarden (car wasn't working), then once back, I AGAIN knocked on my neighbours door for some help charging the battery! I don't know what I would do without him!
I checked the lights inside the car again, and Robert had once again, switched his light on, and left it on! And it had been on since Saturday morning, so no wonder it was flat the battery!

It is all better now, thank goodness, and I am going to find a way to tape up the light button, so that our little Mr Man, cannot do it again!

One good thing came out of it, I managed to sound stressed enough on the phone to Opel's that they will let my brother come and get the tyres for me! Thank goodness for that, that saves me 240km of driving!
This afternoon we spent in the garden again, it wasn't quite as sunny as the past two days, but still very nice. Then it was bath time, as we had to clean up Robert's legs and toes. He has a REAL boys legs now, scrapes, grazes on both knees and all of his toes. Riding his Bobby car with sandals on is NOT a good idea - but what would Mummy know!

The chickens have settled in very well now, one of the old ones is boss, and she lets the others know it sometimes, but all in all they seem to be getting along fine. They are certainly laying well! 5 eggs today! Yummy, yummy!

It is a bank holiday here in Germany today, so Florian was here an extra day this weekend. We made the most of this by visiting friends and barbecuing.
Florian hurt his knee last weekend, and the doctor told him to be sure what the matter is, he needs an MRT, as our friend is a radiologist an has an MRT in his practice, Florian had his knee looked at too. He has torn his meniskus and will have to be operated on. Not exactly good news.
Now he just needs an appointment.

The weather again today was beautiful, we spent the whole day out in the fresh air! It was great.

I think I am actually out of words today, it has taken me a good 15 minutes to write this little bit. So I will call it a day now, and say

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a GREAT day! I got a lay in, after the boys had given me their presents from Kindergarden. They had both made a butterfly for me, and said a little poem - in German - for me! So cute, then Florian took them downstairs and I fell back to sleep again - til 11am! Wow, I was so surprised, when I woke up!
Downstairs, they had picked me a beautiful bunch of flowers, and Florian had made me a card (his first scrapbooking page!). And all day Florian and the boys treated me. We had a lovely time in the garden, the boys played with their boat track and the water again, and Florian and I sat under the sunshade and I had the computer on, it was great fun. The boys didn't even argue today!

The new chickens have already laid 3 eggs for us! I didn't expect them to lay so soon, I thought they would have to get used to their new home first, but it doesn't seem that way. Now about the chicken story I promised. Well.. the chickens have their own little house with a chicken sized door, that is solar operated, so when it starts getting dark the door goes down (very slowly, so as not to hurt anyone). Our new chickens of course don't know this, so at about 9pm I went to check that they had all made it into indoors (safer in there with foxes and such). Not one of them had. I got out there and they had all made themselves comfy on the fence around the chicken run! Oops! We MUST clip their wings if we want to keep them. Florian and I spent a good 15 minutes rounding them up and getting them inside! One of them in an attempt to escape us, even flew into the cherry tree! It was such a funny sight, Ticki joined the fun, well not really I think he was too busy watching us make fools of ourselves to come and help! It still makes me giggle. So when I have finished here, we are off out again to "help" the chickens find their way into their house!

Five new family members!

Yep, you read right, we have added an additional 5....pets to the family. We went out and bought some new chickens! After making the layout about fresh eggs this week, I dedided that we needed some more chickens. And this morning there was an advert in the local paper for someone selling them. So off we went.
They are still a bit shy, so I haven't got any good pictures yet, but I will let you see them soon. And lets hope they start laying soon, I quite fancy an egg for breakfast tomorrow, but I think that is asking a bit too much!

After getting the chickens, we went to the restaurant with the boys again. It was such a lovely day, we even had our dinner out on the terrace. It was great. - Dare I own up to this next bit....I forgot to take a change of nappies with us. So after dinner Florian and Richard had to drive back home for a complete change of clothes! Oops! Robert and I finished our dinners, then went down to the playground. It was a great day. For me and the kids at least.
Florian actually went to the emergency doctor this morning his sinuses were so blocked that his head was really aching bad. He now has a course of antibiotics to take, so hopefully by tomorrow they will have started to work. He put on a brave face for the boys though.

Once back from the restaurant, we went in the garden, and the boys decided it was warm enough for their boat track (with water), and they were right, so that is what they played with, argued over and played with again all afternoon.

They are really worn out, I have been sat here now for 30 minutes and not a peep from either of them, bless them.

Tomorrow is Mother's Day, and I want to be prepared, in case Mum gets on a computer tomorrow to check her mails or my blog!

A new Car!!!

Well, I went and picked up our new car today! Boy do they go over it thoroughly when you take a leased car back. We are lucky and have a car through Dad's employee leasing, but I think they take even more care finding fault when you take it back! I swear there was nothing wrong with the car, but they found 150 Euros worth of bumps and bruises on it. Fortunately they were covered in the 250 Euros allowance!
But they are so unorganised, when they phoned they gave me today as the date to pick it up, but forgot to mention the fact that I wouldn't be able to get the winter tyres today as it is closed on Fridays - hello?! anyone home? - Why when they know how far I am driving, didn't they let me come on Tuesday and get it all at the same time! Now I have to go back AGAIN on Tuesday to pick up the winter tyres. Even though I don't need them til November time. Dad would pick them up for me when they get back off holiday, BUT every day they get left there after Tuesday costs an extra 10(!) Euros! So that would be 140 Euros! Thieves I say!
Anyhow, Tuesday bright and early I will be off to the car place AGAIN to get my tyres. At least this time I can go earlier and not have to leave the kids at Kindergarden!

I think they enjoyed it there for lunch, at least that is what they told Florian when he got home tonight. After they had taken him to show him THEIR NEW car. So cute, they were so excited to see him again. And the good news is, it's a holiday here on Monday, so we get him an extra day!
I am off out to see my friends now, so no layouts tonight.

Double - Yippee!!!

Yippee No 1 - 3 people have made a layout with my kit!!! I am so excited about it. Silvia's I told you about yesterday, Leigh has one on her blog today, with her beautiful daughter on it, and Dinphy posted one for the Colour Challenge at DSO, here is the link to the layout, so you can leave her some love for me. It is so great to see the kit in action and to read all the great comments and to watch the number of downloads increasing! its just Wow!

On to Yippee No 2 - I have a babysitter for tomorrow, and guess what it is the first people I asked! Yep - the boys can stay at Kindergarden til 3pm tomorrow after all! I have been doing a happy dance all afternoon! I got a little bit told off about the short notice, but I think they felt sorry for me, and they will now have the boys for lunch, afternoon nap and playtime til 3. I was so dreading taking the car back with them.
I was pretty busy all morning, first I went and did the shopping, as I hadn't been able to the last two days. I hurried myself, because at home I had the cleaning of the car ahead of me.
Actually I was really lucky, when I took the car in to be serviced they also hoovered it out for me, so that didn't need doing. All I had to do was try and get the muddy marks from the kids of the upholstery - it looks OK to me now, lets hope it does to Opel tomorrow. Now all I have to do is take the car seats back out again, won't be needing them in it tomorrow after all. hihi!

This afternoon the boys and I tried to mow the lawn again. Today they fought over the little toy lawnmower, eventually pulling it apart. I took that as a sign and left them fighting over the bits and who was going to mend it, and got quite a bit done, without tripping over them all the time. Richard got bored of the screaming and went and played in our neighbours sandpit. But Robert screamed non stop for a good 15minutes. What a blessing that the lawnmower drowns out most of the noise. Robert should know that screaming gets him absolutely nothing, but it has yet to sink in! Once he did stop screaming and asked nicely I did fix it for him, and as Richard was in the sandpit there was no further arguing. However the mowing was cut short (the mowing not the grass), when we run out of petrol!!! Oops, now it will have to wait for the weekend, as I am not getting petrol in my nice clean car! That would be an accident waiting to happen!

I have another layout for you, this one killed three birds with one stone! One - its for the BTST CT, two - its for the BTST Jumpstart Challenge, three - it's for the Book of Me at DSO - not bad, eh?
Anyway for the BOM Challenge we had to scrap something that makes us wonder - and I DO wonder where Sunny went and how he found his way home, when he went missing for 7 months. We'll never know, but it's good to have him home again!

I have the world's worst timing!

Well, they phoned me today, I get our new car on Friday! Wow, that's great I think, and then comes the part about the timing! Friday that's in two days, with no weekend in between, which means I have the great pleasure tomorrow of cleaning the inside of the car on my own. Oh well, at least I can do it when the kids are at Kindergarden. Friday too, my parents go on a well-earned holiday to Majorca (Spain), which means my babysitter isn't there to look after the boys whilst I exchange cars. Oh well, I think, I will let them stay the whole day at Kindergarden just this once. I phone and No, I can't do that, everyone else had the same idea for Friday, and there is only one place - I need two! Bother!
OK, so I have to ask for help now, and since being in hospital with Robert I have become very reluctant to ask for help, as the times I did, did not go well. I am asking my sister-in-law, she is not exactly going to eat me if I ask, but I still had butterflies when I phoned. Unfortunately it is field day at their Kindergarden on Friday morning, and she isn't home.
So to get to the point, I have to exchange cars on Friday morning, with both kids in tow! Maybe it will work to my advantage, and the guys there will be worried about all the new cars stood around and let me out quicker than usual! Keep your fingers xed for me!
At least I have a car back to exchange. When I phoned the garage this morning it seems that they forgot me yesterday! The car was ready, but they forgot to phone me! Grr. They were very embarassed, but never offered me any money back on the repair. Shame!

This afternoon we were in the garden again, and the kids from next door came over to play. The boys had a great time. When we came in we headed straight for the bath, as Robert had tipped sand all over Richard. I don't think he believed me, when I said that it had gone in Richard's nappy, cause he had to have a look for himself at bathtime! Now he believes me!

Little monsters they were today, so I think I need to see if it is New Moon again, cause that would explain it!

I did the Word Challenge at BTST today, the word to inspire our layout (and which had to be used somewhere on the layout ) this month is "fresh", fresh eggs is what sprung into my mind, so I delved into our endless supply of photos and found this one of Robert hand feeding the chickens about two years ago! Unfortunately we now only have two chickens left, one is so old that it doesn't lay anymore, and the other just doesn't want to. So we no longer have really fresh eggs. I think it is about time we looked into getting some more chickens - I miss the endless supply of eggs, and they were so delicious!

Wow! Thank you all!

I can't believe all the downloads my little kit is getting - thanks so much for that. And those who commented, YOU ALL MADE MY DAY! I will definitely be having another go at this some time (probably the next colour challenge), its so much fun, now I have gotten over the nervousness.
Well for those of you here for the kit, you'll have to scroll down to yesterdays post. But you can read your way there, too.

Well, today I was supposed to get the car back! But they haven't even called me! Bit of a cheek really, but I am hoping that as they messed up, they will knock a bit off the bill! - I know big firms don't normally, but I can hope. And tomorrow I will be on the phone to them, to get them to do my shopping, if they can't get me the car back!
Its not quite that bad here, I did have enough to feed us, and it was no problem getting to and from Kindergarden, the weather was beautiful. We were out in the garden again all afternoon. Richard doesn't like it out there as long as Robert does, and the last hour or so, I have to keep telling him, we'll go in in a minute! I got some good pics (I think) of the two of them with their sunglasses! They do look cute in them, and today, they looked even cuter, as they were wearing "smart" shirts (like Daddy)!

That was about it for today, you don't really want to hear how I conquered my mountain of ironing, do you!?!

My first ever Scrapbooking Kit!

can you believe it, I am actually nervous about this post! Sometime last week, I think it was the day Kim B. posted the colours for the DSO May Colour Challenge, I decided I would see if I could work out how to make my own papers. Then "I wonder if I can make a frame, ...." And now I have my first very own kit. To offer you. Not all of the papers and elements are on the preview, another thing I have yet to master...but the best bits are!

I made most of it my self, but I did use a couple of the bits from Sweet Digi Scraps Designers Grab Bag available at Been There Scrapped That.
I have a long way to go, but I hope that a little something of it appeals to a few of you. And please let me know if you do use it, I would love to see it in action.

We're walking!

Yep, the car is in for its annual inspection and to have a couple of scratches and dents removed, so Robert, Richard and I now have to walk! It is going to take longer than expected, but we should get the car back sometime tomorrow afternoon. Well, at least the weather is OK. Actually this morning was a lot nicer than this afternoon, it has looked like rain most of the afternoon, especially as soon as Robert, Richard and I set foot outside.
Robert decided that we would go for a walk this afternoon, so we did, we went to watch the horses, the boys were most fascinated by them as three out of 4 did a wee-wee once we got there. The boys thought that was great! So they sat down on the path and waited for the fourth horse to have to go, but he wouldn't oblige!

Once home it was bath time, then tea time, and now bedtime! Time does fly some days! And today was one of them.
Not much more to say about today.

A little late today!

We have been out all afternoon, friends were having a barbecue by the river, near where we used to live. So we got in the car and went and joined them there - it was GREAT fun! We haven't seen this lot of friends for too long, it was good to get together with them again, and it was as if we hadn't been away! Just great.
The weather was perfect for the gettogether too, infact the boys have VERY rosy cheeks this evening and have just had some Aloe Vera on them, to cool them down. Haven't checked my own, but I am usually the first to get sunburnt. oops!

In the morning Florian put the summer tyres on the car, as this or next week we have to take this one back and get our new one! Time flies, it only seems like last week that I was picking this car up!

The boys had a VERY VERY blue ice-cream whilst we were out, and I am sure that that is the reason that they did not sleep a wink on the drive home today, and were full of beans when we were putting them to bed. Little monsters! I think I will rule BLUE ice-cream out in future. I tried it, it was awful, but they loved it!

I'll scrap the blue ice-cream tomorrow perhaps, for today I just had to scrap Robert and his new sunglasses! He didn't take them off, he did at times push them onto his forehead, but for the most they were on his nose, even to watch TV! So cool!!

Another great day!

It started off REALLY well. Florian did get up with the boys and kept them out of our room, so I got a lay in, and didn't get out of bed til 10.30am! I feel so much better for it. Yesterday I was that exhausted, that I didn't even scrap a layout! Today I could scrap a thousand, well sort of, but we still have visitors. I have just put the boys to bed, and am waiting to see, if they need anything, but then I will go back downstairs and join in the fun around the fire.

Florian and I hang a lot of photos up on the walls today, something we have been meaning to do for a LONG while. But I finally got around to ordering some big prints (a great offer from Snapfish) and as I have a thing about buying frames, we actually had enough to frame them all (7 altogether I think) and now when you go upstairs you get to see the family (mostly the boys). It looks really good!

Then this afternoon our friends joined us for a barbecue. Mmh, delicious, I just love summer and barbecues! We had steak, salad, pasta salad, sausages, garlic bread and feta cheese. Delicious! The boys ate nearly all the sausages in one packet, I think that is about 12 small sausages! They really tucked in and really enjoyed it!
Hopefully all the fresh air has worn them out and they sleep well!

A birthday party!

Today was Robert and Richard's friend Florian (yep same name as my husband!)'s Birthday! He had a lovely little party, with his friends and his Mum's friends. So we all had a great time there. It was good to see the girls again, with Robert being ill, I hadn't seen them for a while, so we had a great natter. AND.. we will be seeing oneanother again, next Friday evening, for even more chatting!
Being away this afternoon and all day yesterday, I seem way behind on the housework, so hopefully, when Florian gets home in a minute, he won't turn around again! I have just been so exhausted all week. I hope it is just lack of sleep. I am hoping to convince Florian to get up with the kids in the morning and give me a couple of hours extra sleep. We'll see, he has had a cold all week, so I hope he is feeling up to it!

Robert did some more drawings tonight, when we got home from the party! Why is it that he does his BEST drawings on the magnetic drawing board?! Oh well, I managed to grab it off of him and Richard, before they erased it, so I will get a photo of it, when I go downstairs, and maybe scrap it tonight. Up until last week, Roberts drawings looked just like scribbles, even Robert drew them, then looked at them and decided what they most resembled. But all of a sudden, like someone switched a switch to on. He is drawing little people! And I know I am biased, but I think they are so cute!!! (I'll show you later, if I don't get to scrap them I will post the pics instead) Here is the picture, on the left we have Richard, in the middle it's me, and on the right is Robert! I'll have to scrap them soon, though!



OK, now to get downstairs and do some more clearing up, before Florian comes home.

Father's Day

here in Germany, Florian unfortunately has to work tomorrow, so he gets his hugs from the kids on Saturday!
They (well, me really) sent him some cards by email. Today i can show them on my blog and in the galleries!

The boys and I went to visit Nanna and Pop today. it was a great day. We went to the fair in the afternoon, the boys saved Nanna and Pop LOTS of money, by "refusing" to go on any of the rides! Well, Robert did go on one carousel, but did NOT enjoy it. He didn't like all the noises, I think it really frightened him. Strange really, as it was a carousel, that he has been on before and enjoyed. Of course, Mum had bought two tickets, Richard refused from the start, and Robert was no way going on it again. So hopefully Zoe and Mia want a ride at some time over the weekend!
What they did enjoy was fishing. A stall where you have a net and fish the fish out of the water. they are worth a certain amount of points at the end. And Robert and Richard had enough for 3 matchbox cars and a lollypop each! that they did enjoy!

After the fair, we walked back along the river and watched the boats, then the boys played in the VERY long grass. They kept flopping in it! So cute!
It was as I said a great day out! Wore the boys out, so i may be in for another good nights sleep.
