Template Challenge and a Special kit

It's time for me to host another challenge at Funky Playground Designs. This month I put my name down for the template challenge, I had the choice of making my own template or asking the designers at FPD if they had one for me...I decided to ask for one for the challenge, so that people want to play with me and don't run away! And Michelle Batton, owner of and designer at FPD made this beautiful template for all of us to play with (image linked to the challenge at FPD)

And this is my take on the template!

Template by Michelle Batton
First Frost by Amanda Carlson and River Rose

Now come and join the fun over at FPD and show me your take on the template! Not only do you get the template you also have the chance to win a $5 Gift Coupon for an FPD Collab!

And now I want to show you a very special kit that is on sale at FPD until December 20th- Shades of Red, the designers and some of the CT at FPD got together to make this kit for Cindy (CT Lead and cheerleader for us all)
Cindy is always there for FPD and Michelle wanted an extra special Xmas present for her and this is what was made (there are even some bits in there that I made...!) Cindy has always wanted a RED kit, they don't come any redder than this one! (image linked to store). CU at Funky Playground!

A goshawk and a party!

First of all, I'll tell you about the party going on at Funky Playground Designs
I know of one game that will be going on over there soon, and it will be really really fun!

One of the birthday offers is the amazing "Life is Good" Collab by the Funky Playground Designers, I got to play with it in advance, and decided it was the perfect kit to scrap our visitor from last week! A goshawk, as beautiful as he may be, we did lose a chicken, and a pane of glass, when he took the short cut through the window instead of out of the open door, but that's another layout (to be coming soon!)Stop by FPD and enjoy the fun in November

The Scraplift Challenge at FPD runs until Wednesday, so you still have time to come and join in the fun, just like my "ex"-online friend Dinphy! Hihi, I say ex, cause last week she visited us with her family and now we are "real life" friends!

And look at the layout she did about us meeting (combined with the Scraplift Challenge)

Thanks Dinphy!

Time for a re-release!

Way back in 2008, I took part in a Design Contest! For a little while I actually sold in a store, but soon decided that I preferred scrapping to designing and packed away my kits for good....or did I!

With Halloween right around the corner and people visiting my blog looking for my old Halloween Freebie, I thought it was time to re-release it!
Download Part 1 here
Download Part 2 here

And whilst you are here, why not pop on over to Gotta Pixel for this amazing Freebie by Sweet Digi Scraps

You download a piece each day for the following week, and whilst you are there, browse around Sweet Digi Scraps store, everything is reduced by 30% to celebrate her week in the Spotlight at GottaPixel.

Now I have to find my old posts with the freebie and redirect people to this post....

FPD Collab "Toil and Trouble"

I am so lucky to be one of the Playground Peeps at FunkyPlayground Designs, cause I get to play with some of their things in advance, and this past week, it was this fun Halloween Collab (image linked to store)We are having our first Halloween Party for the kids from Kindergarden on October 30th, so I don't yet have pictures of kids dressed up yet, but I still found a great use for the Collab. I scrapped about Florian (my husband) and I reading Harry Potter, some of the elements in the kit were just perfect for that!Well, the collab is available for 50% off in October, which means you can get this great kit for only $3.50! And there are also a set of Quickpages and a set of Printables available!

Creative Sweeties Favorite Kit Blog Train

That's quite a mouthful isn't it! But soooo worth it! The Creative Sweeties were able to play to their heart was content with Liz's goodies these past two weeks and we have all come up with very different gifts for you all!

Mine is a hybrid, a very easy one for you all, all you need to do is print and then if you want laminate! I have made you a timetable, now that the kids are all back at school, we or they need to keep track of which books they need or which homework needs to be ready.
This is my timetable on our fridge in the kitchen. And every morning my 6-year old asks me to read what subjects he has on that day!

I laminated the sheet, and wrote on it with a wipeable pen, so that if the timetable changes during the term, I can change mine too!

But before you get to get your freebie, let me show you Liz's new releases today:I played with Mister Happy Go Lucky at last weeks Speed Scrap and this is my layout!

OK, now that you have patiently looked at my fridge, the new kits and my layout, here is your freebie (image linked to 4 shared)

Have fun with it, oh and before you go searching for my other freebies, my 4shared account was deactivated and they have all disappeared, sorry!

Oh and don't forget a little THANK YOU can go a LONG way!

And now please continue on your train ride:

Three R's

Just in time for Robert starting school (can you believe my first born is starting school, I can't) Liz has released a really cute school kit. Perfect for both boys and girls, and even for pics of me starting school - if there were any. It wasn't a big thing, when I started school in the UK, way back when, but wow is it a big thing in Germany. I'm still not sure, I am getting it all right here, but my friends have promised to spoil Robert if I get it wrong at all!

Anyhow here is the kit (and best of all it is in the two dollar category at GP right now! Image linked to store)
Danyale has made some matching wordart and border clusters to go with it. And Liz made some templates, one of which I used for this layout (look at me journalling - GO ME!!!)CU a bit sooner than last time - promise!

Here to help you decide is my layout using the collab, got to love the little animals in the kit, I may just have to visit the zoo some more!!!

A blog challenge and some layouts

Phew its been a while, but I have been at the seaside with the boys, trying to get Robert's immune system up and running! We all had a SUPER time there, and the boys didn't even want to come home!
Internet connection up there was either really expensive and fast, or really cheap and even slower than slow, so that is why I wasn't around much and now have LOTS of catching up to do.

First off, let me tell you about the challenge I am hosting at FunkyPlayground Designs, or better yet, I'll just show you my layout for it, and then you can pop on over to FPD and join in the fun (layout linked to blog)!

So what else is new...well whilst I was away, Liz (Sweet Digi Scraps) got back in the groove and has LOTS of new stuff in her store, I have yet to play with some of it, but I do have two layouts using two of the three "Momma" kits

this first layout is my FIRST layout using my birthday present from Mum and Dad (even though my birthday isn't til June 5th) - I got Photoshop CS5! And Florian got me a new laptop to go with it, so this is the first layout using that too!

And here is another one. This is the boys on their favourite pasttime whilst we were convalescing - collecting shells, and I swear I am not exaggerating when I say we bought 1000s home with us!

I did do some scrapping whilst away (not much, all that fresh air made me tired), I'll be back sometime soon and show you those too!

I tried Paper Scrapping!

And what did I learn...I am a Digi Girl through and through!
Having said that I did enjoy the course it was great fun and I met a great paper scrapper - Andrea, I just missed my laptop and the things that I am already able to do digi-style that I am a long way from in paper!
But I still wanted to show off the book I made. Andrea bought so many supplies with her we were spoilt for choice, and if I had girls I am pretty sure I would have had a lot more embellishments on my pages, but for my boys I stuck with paper really. So here are my pages, I chose some pictures of our day out to Thomasland (Drayton Manor Park, UK) last year.
The cover of the librello
Pages 2 and 3
Pages 4 and 5
Back page
Pages 7 and 8
I never finished during the course, but I really wanted at least one finished paper scrapping project, so whilst the boys and Florian were on the Wii yesterday I set up in the kitchen. Unfortunately my supplies are VERY limited, so I even had to be creative with the gluing, as I have no acid free glue, at least it doesn't say so on the packet. So I used double sided photo sticking things for all of the gluing. And it worked as far as I am concerned.

I really enjoyed Andrea's course and I know she also does jewellry classes using Swarovski beads, so I'll be on the lookout in the course calendar for next term to take part in that!

Andrea had lots of her scrapbooks with her for us to look at and they were AMAZING, if you want to see her work, you really should go and check out her blog "Mini und Maxi", it's in German, but her cards and pages are amazing!

I'll be back soon, with some digi layouts. Funky Playground Designs is re-opening under new ownership with some awesome designers on April 1st! And I'll be showing off some of their things! CU then!

Sunshine anyone?!

No, I can't send the little bit we had today your way, you see it is here trying so hard to melt our mountains of snow.

No I am here with some South African Sunshine in the form of Kim's kit "Sunshiney Day" I love the soft colours in this and it was so nice to NOT scrap snow!

This first layout uses a picture from my cousin's beach wedding.

And this is Robert last year tucking into his ice lolly.

And as I am really late posting this, Kim actually has another kit out "Rustic Warmth", I used this one for Challenge 4 of the ADSR5. We had to make two ATC cards (Artist Trading Cards) there were no rules other than the size of it, and that it had to honour our partner, and this is it

Creative Sweeties Blog Train

If you are as in love with Liz's designs as I am, then you are going to love this blogtrain. Liz's Sweeties have all put together something unique to share on this blogtrain.

This is what I have for you

this little box is perfect for just a few chocolates for your sweetheart on Valentine's Day.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it (took some trial and error), and I love comments, so if you could leave one, it would make my day!

Someone asked what to print it on, I printed it on regular thick paper in my printer, being in Germany I made it for DIN A4 paper, but it will print fine on Letter size paper!
have fun!

And here is the list for the blogtrain, please take into account time differences and weather problems, and stop by again if the posts aren't up yet!

Meet Jennilyn Designs

I have joined a new CT - Jennilyn Designs, this weekend she is opening up shop at Sunshine Studio Scraps (SUN). And I have been busy playing with her designs for the Grand Opening.
I met Jennifer through the P365 project last year - we both made it through the whole year, only Jennifer was one better than me, she has just got her amazing P365 layouts printed into a book, its amazing!
Jennifer had a CT call at the beginning of the month and I was too shy to apply, but was over the moon when she asked me if I would like to join - Thank you again if you are reading!

Here are some of my layouts for her (and of course me and my family!) using her products,
I have these two layouts using her "Making Waves" templates - these were so much fun to play with and really versatile.
Here the boys had built their own hideout under Florian's footrest!

And here are two favourite pictures of Richard (Journalling reads: Mummy and Daddy love your cuddles, and we make the most of them, as we know the time will come, when cuddling is "uncool"! )

I won this kit by Flutter Expressions when her CT opened up their new CT Blog and Twitter account!

And I also got to play with Jennifer's Templates "Kickers 1"
Me and Florian having fun taking pics of ourselves!
here I got to use Liz's great Valentines kit "Cupid Struck" too, and also some of Danyale's great wordart that she made to go with it!
