Gotta Grab It

This first kit is soooo cute, but I still have to find some bath pics to use with is this "Towel Dried!"
And then Liz gave us CT girls this cute kit to work with - I swear Liz can read my mind across the distance! I was sat watching the kids and thinking back, and remembered what Robert used to say when he was still learning to talk. It made us laugh every time. And this kit "Going Nanas!" was just perfect for it, as you will see.

Through the Patch Blogtrain

I told you I had a surprise for you! ;o)
Sweet Digi Scraps (Liz) and Valarie Ostrom Designs have collabed again (remember the great Project 365 kit - Life is Good or Growing Up Boy or Growing Up Girl) and they have come up with this cute Kit "Through the Patch".
The Sweeties (also known by our "boss lady" as Mushy Taters, but that's a LONG story that Danyale can tell better than me!) got to play with the kit and make some presents for our blog readers!!

Showing off how proud I am

of my eldest son, Robert.
I decided to use this fabulous kit by LouCee Creations - Changes, to scrap just how proud I felt of Robert yesterday when we took him to school to be assessed as to whether he can start school next year.
First here is the kit I used (image linked to store) LouCee is Designer of the Month at DSO and this is her special for us all, it's available for ONLY $1 this month.

And whilst I was having fun with LouCee's kit, I did a layout for the Scraplift Challenge at DSO. It's Zoe unwrapping one of her presents at her 7th Birthday party. I just loved the little elements in LouCee's kit, that looked like presents and took it from there!

One picture - two layouts

hihi, so yesterday I took the boys to the playground at Kindergarden. There is a conker tree there and after they had finished playing on all the toys there, I suggested they pick up some conkers! Was I thinking of all the autumn kits I had on my hard drive...not really! But I did get some good pictures of the boys and one I particularly liked, so this weekend it got scrapped twice.

This first layout I did using Liz's new kit - Through the Patch, she's collabed with Valarie Ostrom again, and I just love the kit. there are a lot of pumpkins in there, so I wonder how the boys would feel about an outing to a pumpkin field...! ;o)

Fall Frolic - and holiday layouts

I was sure I posted these layouts before we went away, I guess they got lost amongst the packing - that is a shame, but I am sure you can still grab the kit I used. I applied for a One Kit Call and this is the beautiful kit I got to play with!
And here is what I made with it. This first layout was for the Template Challenge at Elemental Scraps and used a template by ChrissyW, and for the Elements Challenge at Gotta Pixel. I love how it turned out.And this is a layout using more of our holiday photos from England. This time it is Robert with Heather (my cousin) blowing bubbles!You can grab Mandy's kit "Fall Frolic" at Scrapbook Elements. (kit preview is linked)

So, now we were away last week, we went with friends to Center Parcs at Bispinger Heide and had a super time there. We did a lot of swimming with the kids, and all sorts of other things. And whilst the others played on the Wii in the evening I watched and scrapped. And here is what I made

Hong Kong Revisited

I had a trip down Memory Lane today. The kit I got to scrap with from DSO is called Colors of a Geisha (and yes I do have a hard time spelling colour the American way!), by Charlie's Digiscraps (image linked to store)When I first saw it, I immediately thought of my trip to Hong Kong back in 1993. Well today I got the photos out and scanned a few in for some layouts. It was fun to remember the trip. I went there with my friend and her then boyfriend and another of her friends (sounds complicated doesn't it, but it wasn't). A friend of ours, Tom, had moved to Hong Kong after university, and we decided, that moving half way around the world wouldn't get rid of us, and we visited him. It was a brilliant trip, even if the most prominent memory is that Hong Kong smells! Anyhow back to my layouts
This first one is me up some mountain overlooking Hong Kong, it was a LONG while ago, and I never did get around to making a photo album, so I have no idea what the place was called anymore.
And whilst browsing the photos, I noticed there were a LOT of me with chopsticks, so I turned them all into one layout! (note the rice on its way back to the dish in the middle photo, that did make us laugh!)

I have been playing with the goodies from DSO again! This time I had a brilliant kit by LouCee Creations "News to Me" (image linked to store)

So what do you think? Looks good doesn't it, I found it was great for two different styles,
I used it to scrap autumn with it on my first layout.
those of you who keep up to date with us on my project 365 blog, know that the boys have been having fun on "nature trails" and these are some of the photos from one of the walks in the woods.

And today I decided to use some of the other elements in the pack to create a heritage page. This is my Grandad and his Uncle (oops the journalling on the layout is wrong - never mind, I'll change it for my own files) Don't they look "dashing" I think is the word used back then!

So you see, the kit is great for the Autumn now, or for those old photos waiting to be scanned!

layouts about me!

I got another kit to play with from DSO - Bitten by Miss Mis and after doing the layouts, I have realised that they are both about me.
This first one is all about what I have been reading... (and Dinphy, when the three books got here, it took me just under a week to finish all three!)

And this one I did for a speed scrap this evening at GP, we had to scrap about a body part we like, I chose my eyes, and it probably highlights something you never knew about me!CU again soon with even more layouts!

More layouts and a bit about...

our fun weekend out! Last weekend we went to visit friends and stayed the weekend. The highlight of the weekend was an outing to the vintage steam railway nearby. The boys were in awe. Not only could they look at "thomas and his friends" in real (well, without the faces), they got to ride in them too. It was great fun. The last train we took had an open carriage to ride in, so we all put on our anoraks and jumpers and went for it. It was actually a lot warmer than I was expecting and so much fun...
Of course the pictures needed to be scrapped. I chose KimB's "Deon" from her Friends Series for this layout.
And then cause I was having so much fun with the kit and because I needed some scrapping therapy today (to put it mildly Robert is being a little monster today) I scrapped this one of the boys.
I have to thank "hoo-rah" for this layout, cause her layout "miraculous" was my inspiration.

Moody Days..

no not me! I'm perfectly happy, its nearly weekend!! And Florian will be home in about 3 hours!
No Moody Days is the name of the kit that I have been playing with this week.

This is first layout is slightly embarrassing for me, BUT I just had to scrap it... But a bit more background, back in the "good old days" when I was really young, we used to go to Butlins (holiday camp) every year, with a huge crowd of Mum and Dad's friends and kids. Well this week my uncle was scanning some old photos in and sent these two through. Its of all of us kids back in 1977 and one of just me in the most embarrassing clothes - I guess I dressed myself that day! Wellies, white socks, skirt, anorak, anorak hood up and on top a hat - what was I thinking!!!

Well I put these two photos on facebook this week too, and we have been having a "Butlins reunion" in the comments. It is great fun - I just love the internet it makes the world so much smaller!
