Missed..

my first day at work today! Yep, I spent most of the night going from my room to Robert's! Yesterday afternoon he had the snivels, well they got worse during the night, along with all sorts of other things he came up with to keep getting me back. the last time I got up was at 5.30am, when I gave in and brought him into bed with me. He was hot, so I lay there thinking, whether or not I could send him to Kindergarden. I then thought rationally, and realised had I not been going to work, then I would have not sent him to Kindergarden, so it was an easy decision really. I turned off the alarm clock and went back to sleep, well as much as one can, with a real live hot water bottle cuddling up!

Richard wasn't too happy about having to go to Kindergarden on his own, but he had no choice. Robert was very clingy all day, although his temperature didn't soar like it has been known too, it was just up a bit, but runny nose and coughing all day long and no appetite for real food - cake yes, food no!

I did find a little bit of time over lunch to do a layout! Bethany from Elegant Wordart Challenged her Blog readers. Well, I just couldn't resist. I had already sorted out my 6th picture from my 6th folder on my Project365 blog (check this post there), so I thought I would give everyone a good giggle. Ready for it?!

Our weekend

We had a great weekend at my parents, we drove down on Saturday and left Mum and Dad with the boys for an hour or so in the afternoon and in the evening. In the afternoon, we went to Media Markt (our technical store - computers, hifi, etc) only really to get a new cartridge for our printer (I've been printing too many b-day cards lately! Oh, and the calendars for Xmas), so whilst there, I suggested we check the external hard drives....
guess what I am now the proud owner of an external hard drive that mirrors itself. So with that my pictures should all be very safe, once we get it working that is. It works fine plugged into the laptop directly, but we want to plug it into the network (gets technical now, and I don't really know what I am talking about) anyhow, Florian needs to reformat it, but Windows XP won't format any more than 32GB, the harddrive is 1TB, so we will have to try it using Dad's Vista, fingers crossed. But enough about my harddrive.

In the evening we went to a b-day party, it was so much fun to see everyone again, some we hadn't seen in ages, possibly not even in 2008, but it was as if we had seen oneanother yesterday but that just a lot had happened in one day, if you know what I mean.

Sunday Dad took the boys up to the airport to watch the airplanes, Robert on our way home, told us, that we had to buy a ticket, cause he wanted to go on one! Bless him!

Today the kids had no Kindergarden, because it is Rosenmontag here in Germany, which is carnival and around there are LOTS of parades, but as I was on my own with the boys and the weather was very damp and dreary, I didn't tell the boys and we stayed in playing. Which reminds me, I want to set up another user on the computer, as the boys want to play on here too - www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies - might be better to set it up properly then there is less damage they can do, if they play "Old MacDonald" on it (you know, here a click, there a click, everywhere a click click!)

Bye 4 now

PS: had fun with our chicken today too, more on that on my project 365 blog!

More scrapping...with Dinphy's new kit!

Yep, I have been at it again, and boy have I been having fun. Dinphy has a new kit in her store as of today, and wow, I LOVE IT! (image linked to store)

And I haven't even got girls! Ah, but I do have two adorable nieces, and here they are.. on this first one they are listening (yes they are honest) to Lee's concert, it was so loud, that they needed to protect their ears!
And this one was taken on the day we went to the carnival parade, they were both dressed up as princesses and trying so hard to make an animal or flower from the balloons! I found a great layout in the gallery at BTST and decided to lift it for mine (check it out here).

and then I wondered, can I make the kit work for my boys....YES I CAN!

The photo was taken on Richard's 3rd Birthday!

OK, time to post my daily photo and then it must be nearly bedtime!

Another boring day at work

So when does it get better then, or easier sitting doing nothing?! OK, not quite true today, the bit of work I had saved from yesterday I managed to spread out until about 10.30 (got to work at 8.15am) but from then on.... nothing! Just me and my Mantra "earning pennies for Thomas Land, earning pennies for Thomas Land"... I'll get used to it soon, I'm sure.

So to relax I have been scrapping again, this time I got a sneak preview, well not even a sneak preview, I got the DigitalArts Cafe VIP Kit for March early to play with. Next month Lynn Griffin is the Designer, and this is what you can get if you sign up (image linked to store)
So I saw another heritage page, when I unpacked the kit and I went and visited Mum's genealogy page and browsed the photos, then checked just how I was related to this lady, and lo and behold she is my GREAT-GREAT-GREAT-GREAT Grandmother!

Real work tomorrow, as in house work!

I've been scrapping!

And I have been having great fun. Look what I got to play with from Karyn a fellow DigitalArts Cafe Designer (image linked to store)Its a fun kit, and these are my layouts with it. This first one is of my brother in concert last summer.

and this one was for the "book of me" challenge at DigiScrapObsession. It was great fun, and look at me journal, I'm having fun with that now I have started!

And I have also had another great kit to play with, this is Promise of Spring by Garden Girl Designs at Been there Scrapped That (image linked to store)I did two versions of this layout, and this one is for the Quote Challenge at DigiScrapObsession, I just thought this quote went great with Nanna and Pops wedding photo, they were married for nearly 60 years, nanna died days before their Diamond Wedding. So instead of the letter of congratulations from the Queen, we got a letter of condolence. Anyhow here is the layout

So today was work again, and guess what, I actually had something to do, not much, and I spread it out quite a bit, but I should have something to keep me a bit busy in the morning, not sure about the afternoon, we'll see.

and now, back to scrapping, I think I need to do some more, I'm having so much fun!

A sale, a layout and an update

First of all, I apologise I forgot to let everyone know about the Valentines Day Sale at DAC, but its all OK, cause it goes on til the 18th!
So what else is new, well, I have been enjoying a weekend off, I have a bad cold and Florian has let me have a lay in, and a bit of relaxation. He is now worn out, but I think he enjoyed the kids too. He took them out both yesterday and today sledging! On their "bum slides" and they loved it! He took lots of pictures, now I just have to get around to scrapping them.

Speaking of scrapping, there is a new Challenge at Been There Scrapped That called "All about Me", to try and get us all away from behind the camera and layouts and ON TO THEM! The first challenge was to scrap about your most memorable Birthday, well, here is what I came up with.

Journalling reads:
My 30th Birthday, almost 10 years ago, that was a day to remember. That morning the local radio station was asking people to bring in birthday presents that they intended to give away that day and maybe win a big prize. Well, my neighbour went one better than that, she took the birthday girl along too! We ended up winning 5.000 DM between us. It was a GREAT way to start the day. Luckily my Mum and my best friend, Moni, were there to help prepare the party as I was away with the neighbour. In the evening I had a GREAT party with all my friends and family. I hadn't met Florian then, shame as he, like me loves a good party.
This year I'm turning 40 and I hope the party is as good as my 30th

So if I keep up with that challenge, you are all going to learn even more than you already know about me!

So I'll see you back here tomorrow for the DAC Blog Train, when I will have (what I think) is a great mini kit for you - just have to upload it now!

Snow...

snow and more snow! Yep it snowed over night again and on and off all day! That didn't stop the boys from wanting to go out in it! You see, I bought them "snow gliders" or as they call them here in Germany "Popo-Rutscher" which translates to "bum slides" - perfect name for them! (see a picture of them on my Project 365 page)
They play on these things at kindergarden when they go out in the snow, and they don't have enough to go around, but now my boys have one each! They had a great time at Kindergarden with them. A not so great time at home though, cause they just would not work on the snow in the garden! So instead Richard did some digging and Robert rode his bike around the garden. if it wasn't so cold and wet, I might even have enjoyed it!

I am coming down with a cold and the last place I really wanted to be was out there with the kids, but the things us parents do for them!

OK, off to bed now, to get better by the morning - I hope!

Work

I hope my work place is clear about what they are doing by employing me. I was there again all morning and I did 20minutes of work! Oops! Could it be the credit crunch affecting the translations needed?! Oh well, money for our holidays...tomorrow I am there all day, so wish me luck that I have more to do! Shame I can't take my scrapping supplies and work on that...

Speaking of scrapping its been a long time since I posted any of my layouts on here, I did one for the JumpStart challenge at Been There Scrapped That last night.
