Another one down!

Uhoh, another one of us has gone down with the tummy bug - Florian in Augsburg has it now. He is down there suffering it out on his own until he can face a 3 hour journey home to be looked after.
Here everything is looking fine, Mum has disinfected us perfectly and so far is showing no symptoms even after being with us since Sunday. So Fingers crossed!

Robert was being a REAL 3 year old today. He refused to do stupid things which resulted in me getting my knickers in a twist and shouting at him, and him being sent to his room until he stopped screaming. The best of the day, was when he refused to take his shoes off after coming home from Kindergarden! What a stupid thing to be stubborn about!

Spent the afternoon at the bakers again, but even there Robert would not do as he was told, and I even had to put him in the car to make him think about what he was doing. When I went to get him after 5 minutes or so, he told me he would rather stay there than come back in. Which of course I couldn't do, someone might lock me up for it! So he came back in and proceeded to sulk. Then all of a sudden, he got up, came over gave me a huge cuddle and said sorry. So maybe it had sunk in!

Right now I am off to visit Leigh before I go down to put my feet up and do another layout, I still have one day left to try to do Liz's challenge at SDS, but as I do not know my way around Photoshop at all really, it could be difficult. First to find a picture.

I did it!!! Mum and I sat down at Photoshop, found the Hue and Saturation adjuster and Bingo, it worked! Might try it more often now!

Yippee! We're all better!!

Yep, no more diarhoe in our house now! And I hope it stays that way. We didn't eat anything too adventurous today and much to the kids disgust we still didn't get the sweeties out! But our tummies thanked us for it, by not turning themselves over every five minutes! Tomorrow it will be back to Kindergarden for Robert.

We actually ventured out of the house today, and went and got some shopping done, nothing too exciting.

I made my layout for the contest today. I decided to go not quite so over the top with the colour scheme and kept it really simple. I really like it, and I am going to use it as a birthday card for my Aunt in February, and I am sure she will too. We now just have to wait and see, whether it was good enough for the competition, it is definitely completely different to all what is on show so far.
I am not sure whether I am allowed to post it on my blog, I will ask in the forum and if I am, then I will post it here too.

Leigh, any questions on the blog, ask away, I hadn't a clue a few weeks ago, and Blogger make it really easy for you. Even the header was pretty easy (just upload a picture!) You go girl, and I will visit you every day too. Thanks for stopping by, by the way.

Take care, CU tomorrow

My Turn!

Went to bed last night, thinking that I was feeling better -WRONG! Spent most of the early morning on the loo! Robert has the runs too, poor little soul. So all of today's plans were cancelled.
Richard didn't get to the doctors for his check up before Kindergarden starts on Friday, cause Mummy couldn't venture too far from a toilet! And Robert couldn't go to Kindergarden. My Mum who thought she had come up here for some fun, played nurse.
I am feeling hungry right now, so maybe that is a good sign - hopes o, I have had enough of tummy ache!

On a brighter note - I made it to the 2nd Round of the CT Contest on JFTSOI, well everyone did, but that makes it no less special to me. We have been sent the kit, now when I am feeling a bit better, I will start "creating" and see what I can come up with.

It was actually Richards B-day today, but it was a good job we celebrated yesterday, cause none of us were too up to it today. His other grandparents actually remembered him too, and gave him a ring, no card or present, but a thought this year!

NEWSFLASH!!!!!
Richard has just done TWO poohs on the toilet! 2 years old today, and he decided that today is the day he wants to start potty training!!! He asked for the potty for wee-wee's too, but that didn't happen. But boy, was he excited after his successful trip to the toilet!!

An early celebration!

Mum and Dad came up to see us today and we celebrated Richard's 2nd Birthday a day early, cause tomorrow his Daddy will be back at work and Pop wouldn't have been able to make it either. And if we are honest Richard doesn't know any different this year!

He thought it was great all the presents to unwrap, everyone singing to him and of course the candles on the cake. That wasn't quite so exciting this year as with the tummy bug doing the rounds we decided to let a healthy baker do the work, and bought just a piece of apple cake. But it looked the part with 2 candles stuck in it and that is the main thing.

Richard got a Doodle Drawing board (a magnetic one), a CD player, a CD story book of Thomas the Tank Engine, Tigger pyjamas, 2 more story CDs and some money to buy something when he needs it (like new shoes in the spring!) He did get a new winter coat with Bob the Builder on it. BUT he won't go anywhere near it. We are not even allowed to try it on him. I wouldn't have thought a 2-year-old could have that strong an opinion - but he has!! He had his coat early so that he could use it straight away, but the little monster won't even try it on!!!!

Mum is staying with us now until Thursday, so we are all excited about that, Dad went back home, he has to work, but he is letting us "borrow Nanna"!

He's better

After writing last night, Robert threw up 3 times and had the runs. I got some medicine against throwing up down him straight away, and that seems to have helped. Cause today he was not himself, but he wasn't throwing up. Thank goodness.
And after a nap after lunch, he was nearly back to normal. He wanted to go and dig in the garden, so Florian took both boys out and they "dug in the garden", well Robert in the garden and Richard in the sandpit. They were out for quite a while, I am sure the fresh air did them good.
They are now tucked up in bed after having a great time putting the bathroom under water whilst bathing! Let's hope the bug is all over and done with now!
I still feel as though someone borrowed my stomach for a game of football, but I can eat and drink without feeling ill, so I am sure it is going to miss me out.

NEXT!!!

Robert has a fever! He hasn't thrown up yet or had the runs, but then again he hasn't eaten all day. As excited as he was about Daddy coming home, he still only wanted Mummy to cuddle him. And that says it all, after all the shouting at him I have done this week. I hope he feels better in the morning. I was really looking forward to Mum and Dad coming for Richards Birthday, but if Robert gets the bug, then they shouldn't come and get it!

Florian got home at 5.15pm and the boys were all over him. They all sat down and played their own version of Ludo, and Robert surprised us all by telling us what number was on the dice. Wow! And even in German! Getting there, slowly but surely, I think I will have to ask at Kindergarden, how his German is coming on. I tend to forget to do that, cause I hear too often, that it isn't, and that it will have to have by the time he goes to school (thats still over 2 years away yet!)

After another bad night last night, tonight, I am going to let Florian go and sort Richard out should he wake up. Its not worth it for Robert, if he really is ill, Daddy won't stand a chance.

Oh What a Night...

... was it really nighttime? The boys didn't really seem to think so, they had me up so many times last night! At 4.30 (not the first time I was up) Robert needed a cuddle - but not in his bed in mine! I fought it, but it was fighting a losing battle so he ended up in with me. At 5.30 Richard joined us, and then the two of them fought over who was going to lay beside Mummy. By 6.15 they got up! And that is just the latter part of the night, I will spare you with the details of the earlier part of the night!

Well, at least they were both too tired to be as contradictive as yesterday, but they tried their hardest.

AS for Richards tummy bug, this morning I thought it was all over, as he was passing wind left right and centre. But then. again I won't go into details, but lets just say the lounge floor has been washed! And by bedtime he had his 3rd pair of trousers on! Poor little thing. He is still not asleep, he tells me he has tummy ache. I managed to get him to take the horrible medicine so hopefully that will help. Up until now, he either spat it straight back out or refused to take it. But by the smell of it, I can understand.

Wish me luck that tonight, they don't need to see me so often.

Knackered!

I have been fighting an uphill battle I think today. Robert got it into his head that today was going to be another of those "I'll ignore whatever Mummy says"-Days! And he stuck to it!
I thought some fresh air would do us all good and blow away all the germs surrounding us. I wisely didn't let them take any kind of transport with them (i.e. bikes, bobby cars, scooters, and whatever else they might have had in mind), cause last time we did, they escaped and were half way back home, before I could get even remotely close.

So we walked, which went great for a third of the way, and then they decided that running and spinning in the middle of the road was the thing to do. And only dragging them by their coats got them back on the path. I was hoarse by then. And this continued for all our walk, in the end I told them that unless they start to do as they are told, that was their last walk with Mummy! That had no effect on them, if they even heard me!

The day with them finished with Robert screaming in his bed, because after again being told 37 times to do something he ignored me, so I put him to bed, without his beloved "story"! That got the message through. And hopefully a reminder of tonight, will put him in a better mood tomorrow!

Richard by the way still has a bit of the runs, but in himself he is a lot better. Had a few temper tantrums in the morning, but they were all gone after a snooze. Perhaps Robert getting him up at 6.30am wasn't such a good idea.

Now something nice to say about the two monsters, I can't only rant about them....erm....difficult one today. Oh yes, I know, they both played NICELY with the Lego today, and they put it away without me asking when they had finished.

Tummy bug continued...

When Richard woke up this morning, I really thought he was over it. And then he threw up all over my pillow! So it was a trip to the doctors this morning for us. He has a virus, and the doctor has already given us medicine for Robert too!! So I am in no way prepared for, but expecting him to come down with it too! I just hope it passes him by, and me for that matter!
Needless to say, we are not going to see Mum tomorrow, and we had to turn away unexpected guests this afternoon. Such a shame!

Robert didn't make life easier for me today, from the word go this morning, he was determined to do the exact opposite of anything I said, regardless of how I worded it, or said it, or shouted it, I even screamed it a couple of times. He actually even laughed at me, thinking it was some kind of joke. Made it very difficult. I hope that mood of his is better tomorrow. Or maybe mine will be after a bit more sleep!

Well here is the poorly little darling before he fell ill, at the carnival parade. This was for the chat challenge (JFTSOI), you had to use all the things on the layout just once.

Someone doesn't want me...

to settle into any kind of routine! Started the day with a very whiny Richard (very unusual) he didn't tuck into his Weetabix, said he had "tummy ache", I just thought it was cause he was hungry.
Well, once we got back from taking Robert to Kindergarden. I got him out of the car, saying about tummy ache, only this time screaming - and he threw up. Missed both of us though luckily.
He was OK then for the rest of the morning, though not his usual self, he just wanted cuddles.
Then after we picked Robert up, he had bad runs andwas nearly falling asleep, so I put him to bed before lunch.
He woke up at about 2pm, and came downstairs, but he was so floppy, and between then and bedtime he had to be changed 3 times! Poor thing! He's now in bed, and I hope that he is OK for the night. Wish me luck!

On a happier note (for me at least) he starts Kindergarden on 1st February! Signed him on today! I think he will enjoy it, once he gets used to the fact, that I don't stay.

I got the kit for the Creative Team Contest. I am allowed to enter one layout. That's a shame, cause I have quite a few ideas. I have until Friday to post, so I am going to try out all my ideas and then enter the best! Wish me luck!

right now I am really off to chat on the internet, if the boys let me that is. So far Robert is quiet and Richard just needed a bit of TLC. Fingers crossed
